In future lighting trends, comes the idea of using light as a material rather than a stagnant object. Lighting is modeled into the architecture, which allows more functionality as well as a guiding path for users to move along the lit space. LED and environmentally sustainable lights will become mainstream, and LED lights are beginning to become integrated into street lighting in parts of Europe. As part of the design, LED lights are the main source of light in this lighting display. This calls for a more sustainable use of energy, and the lights are part of the building itself. The light will work as a guiding path for circulation around the space, for clientele in the retail environment to wander.
This design integrates futuristic lighting design, using LEDs to light the circulation pathways. The light will act as a mechanism that contrasts the space and also the objects being sold in the retail space, the furniture in this showroom are placed on elevated pedestals that are lit with in ground lighting as well as lighting strips on the side, all placed to resemble a giant lighting circuit. The showroom itself centers on the light well, which serves as a landmark and an interactive feature for the clientele. The light well is integrated with LEDs that will move along with any movement that is detected. The black is placed to contrast the dark with the brightness of the white LED, bringing a simple but bold effect to the design.
